Bonner General Health’s Telestroke Network technology gives our stroke patients the best chance for a full recovery.
Our stroke patients have access 24 hours a day to stroke specialists at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center who will evaluate their symptoms. Patients’ vital signs are taken by our staff in the Emergency Department and discussed in real-time with neurologists via a wheeled teleconference pod equipped with two-way audio and video.
Stroke treatment begins with diagnosing the extent of the stroke. Neurologists need to see the patient’s eyes and motor skills, and they need to hear the patient speak. With this technology a neurologist is no longer miles away, saving valuable time that can lead to the successful treatment of stroke symptoms.
